It’s so easy to fall victim to imposter syndrome as a new business. We feel like we aren’t credible and no one will buy our products or services. We constantly judge ourselves against already-successful businesses and accounts on social media, but the truth is, they all had to start somewhere. It’s rare for a new business to instantly be successful. It’s not impossible, but for most businesses, it takes a lot of hard work and perseverance.
How can you beat imposter syndrome? One of the easiest ways is to just show up. This means keeping up with your website, adding blog posts, and just showing up on social media. If this seems like a lot of work, break down the steps. Figure out how many times a week you want to post content on different channels and schedule time to get on social media and interact with other accounts in your industry. It can seem overwhelming at first, but carving out time in your busy schedule can help ease the stress.
When I first started working for Simply Skin by Tori, she had little presence on social media. I remember posting the first few times for her and feeling a little disheartened by the lack of engagement and likes on her posts. However, I kept at it and kept showing up. Since May, her content engagement has skyrocketed, followers have increased drastically, and most importantly she has been booking tons of appointments.
You can do it! Have faith in yourself and your business and it will show through in your content. Just stick with it and push past doubt and I guarantee success!
